The reason why am posting these quotes about moving forward and not dwelling on the past: In the weight control arena, many people beat themselves up about gaining weight, whether this be a long-term lack of weight control or a given week/month of weight gain.  This incessant self-flagellation is a waste of time and energy.  Rather, the focus should be on learning from the mistakes of the past and then with positive energy, focus and commitment, move forward to bring those lifestyle changes and behavioral modification to achieve the new healthy and happy weight.

Spending time ruminating on past, failed attempts at weight control is not time well spent.  Next time you begin to self-berate, shake out of this mode and move to positive action.
