There are many parameters of our bodies that we can objectively measure and get an exact reading including such things as:
- Blood pressure
- Heart rate
- Cholesterol level
- Blood sugar
- Vitamin D level
- Weight
The list is almost infinite as to the “things” in our body that we can measure objectively.
Let’s now turn to the “things” that occur in our bodies that are NOT (I will call this “UN”) measurable. Here are some examples:
- How much energy we feel
- How quickly we recover (muscle fatigue) from exercise
- Mood…how happy or sad we are
- Libido
- Sensation of breathlessness when we exert ourselves
The list of “Unmeasurables” is quite lengthy as well.
As we rely on our doctors to evaluate our “measurables” (other than things we can do at home such as weight) we all must self-evaluate our “unmeasurables” to see if we need help to improve the status of these. By doing so and taking action, our lives will be healthier and happier.
We all want to be the better “ME”. And with that last line, I will give you Sammy Davis Jr.
