We have been receiving many e-mails and comments to these blogs “thanking” me for the work I am doing in seeing patients medically as well as posting daily messages to people that may, in a very small part, help them cope a bit better during this horrendous time period. I want to thank all of you that have sent these very, very kind words. This provides me with lots of inspiration to hammer out these 4 AM musings (with all those typos, sorry!) as well as don those masks and gowns to see sick people in our parking lot. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I wanted to take this opportunity to take the focus away from me and direct this to some really, really “unsung” heroes: The Serotonin-Plus/Potomac Internal Medicine Team: Arunee, Norma, Stephanie and Nataliya. These amazing Ladies continue to come to work, expose themselves to the same perils of other healthcare workers that interact with ill patients and on a daily basis, keep their smiles and positive attitudes on. Every single day they are trying their best to ensure that all of our patients have their medical and weight control needs attended to. Logistics, such as arranging telemedicine visits, refilling medications, shipping serotonin products and other “detail work” are handled all by them while “Dr. Posner” sort of gets the high-profile, relatively easy work.
Three other amazingly valuable team members that have worked part time with us, Nurse Alicia and PA Kristin and NP Ashley have been temporarily placed on the sidelines due to the reduced workload but I am confident that when “normalcy” returns, they will bring back their great skillsets to our practice.
To my Team: Keep up the GREAT work, keep on those smiles and go to bed every night knowing you are making a very big, positive difference in our patients’ lives. I could not do what I do without YOU. THANK YOU!!!
