Happiness Is____

If you were to make a list of “things” that make you HAPPY, what would that list look like?

I imagine that many people would list such things as:

  • Spending quality time with your loved ones
  • Engaging in activities (such as golf, playing cards, etc) that you enjoy.
  • Watching a live music event, show or movie
  • Seeing your favorite sports team win an important game

The list of “things” that make us happy can go on and on and on.

Now, examine your list and see whether inanimate good/drink sources are on your list and whether these predominate your list or are only a small part of it.  My suspicion is that the other “make me happy” things are not food/drink related.

The point:  Our relative level of “Happiness” has little to do with food/drinks, yet our engagement of some of these can place our health in peril.  I know for certain that having a serious illness is NOT an item on anyone’s “Happy List”, yet our failure to control the foods/drinks that hurt us also hurt our happiness.

Being healthy allows us to be HAPPY on many levels.  Stay steadfast in your weight control efforts and you will feel very HAPPY.
