Needless to say, the year 2020 has presented all of us with an incredible amount of challenges. Is there anyone out there that has not felt some/many elements of anxiety, fear, frustration, anger and depression? For many people going through this emotional rollercoaster, it is very difficult to enjoy the activities and celebrations that up until the pandemic, brought lots of happiness to us.
On the day entitled “Thanksgiving” it would be great to focus our thoughts on all of the people and things we have in our lives that we are thankful for. These people and things are the reasons why we wake up in the morning, get dressed and fight the fight every day. It would be much easier roll up in a ball and ruminate on the “bad stuff”.
Personally, some of the major things I am thankful for are:
YOU- I am the luckiest doctor in the world because I have the great fortune of having the opportunity to take care of the most amazing patient panel a doctor could ask for.
The Serotonin-Plus Team: Arunee, Norma, Stef, Nataliya, Kristen, Alicia and Ashley all bring positive energy, empathy and caring to our patients. Another major point: As many medical offices closed up and would not see sick patients face-to-face, we stayed open and continue to see anyone in need of help. The SP Team takes on this risk because they do want sick people having to line up at impersonal emergency rooms or other settings where they are not treated even close to how we care for our patients.
My family: I am blessed to have an incredibly loving family that will always have my back as I have theirs.
To all: Let’s try to stay healthy to enjoy future Thanksgivings when the pandemic year will be a distant, bad memory.
