NOW Is The Time To Focus

I am writing this entry on October 12.  Pretty quiet time of the year…summer excursions are over and we have weeks to go before the holiday season kicks in.  The time period from Halloween until New Year’s may be the most challenging time of the year to focus on weight control efforts.  I am certain that many of you, including me, believe that the fastest time of the year occurs during this period.  We go from Halloween functions to Thanksgiving fests to Christmas gatherings to New Year’s celebrations.  From the leftover Halloween candies to the Thanksgiving foods/drinks to the Christmas eat-fests to the New Year’s alcohol usage…at almost every turn, we are faced with lots of weight control challenges.

Given the fact the we are a mere few weeks away from Halloween and the start of this challenging part of the year, NOW is the time to truly focus on your weight control efforts.  This does not imply that we should abandon all efforts from October 31-January 1.  Even during this period of time we should prioritize our health over the immediate gratification that the treats/foods/drinks deliver to us during those several months.  However, in three weeks, with great focus and efforts, 10 or more pounds could be shed.

There are times of the year when distractions are more limited whereas at other times (such as Halloween through New Years) there are many more challenges.  Take this time to focus on your efforts to maximize your health and live longer to enjoy many more holiday seasons.
