If I were to ask you about what “PRIORITIES” you have, the chances are high that they would fall into these categories:
- Basic Needs & Security: This encompasses fundamental needs like food and shelter, as well as financial security and safety.
- Health & Well-being: Physical and mental health, including regular exercise and positive thinking, are crucial for many people.
- Relationships: Close connections with family, friends, and romantic partners are often a central focus.
- Purpose & Growth: Developing a sense of purpose, making a positive impact on society, and pursuing personal growth are significant priorities.
- Independence & Autonomy: Many people value the ability to make their own choices and live life on their own terms.
- Meaningful Work: Engaging in work that is stimulating, rewarding, and allows one to use their talents is a priority for some
When you examine these different “Priorities”, for me, one stands out: HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.
The reason? Without good health/well-being, it is very difficult to focus, act on and be successful with your other priorities. Most of us (including me) take for granted the times that physical issues are not impacting our performance in life. It is only when we are laid up with an illness/injury/health condition when we realize that the highest priority of all is obtaining/maintaining good health.
The point: Please focus on living a healthy lifestyle to increase the likelihood that you can have a good state of health/well-being. By doing so, you will be able to realize most/all of your other priority missions.
My brother and sister in law are flying out to Vegas today to see Paul McCartny in concert.
83 years old and still performing! For not his apparent good health, he could not go on stage and still fulfill his priority of entertaining so many people. Kudos Sir Paul! (And I should not forget Ringo who is still performing!
