One of the many aspects of human nature is seeking the “EASY” way of accomplishing tasks. When faced with a difficult vs easy routes most/all of us would choose the easy route. Why spend more time, energy, resources, stress etc when you can reach the same end goal in a much easier manner?
This entry was inspired by something I did this morning: When I write these entries, I am a challenged to find new health/wellness subjects to write about ( I have penned thousands of these blogs over the years) as well as trying to write in an informative, fun and engaging manner. For the fun of it, I, for the first time, clicked onto am artificial intelligence site and placed a search term in: “How do you stop stress eating”. In seconds a full document was generated that looked at the root causes of stress eating as well as how to combat it. I laughed because this reminded me so much of the old days in school when “Cliff Notes” were available, basically summarizing everything about a certain book that allowed you to fool your teachers into believing you read the entire, long book.
I guess college professors and high school teachers have “counter” online methods of discovering whether students are having AI write these papers for them or are the students actually doing the much more difficult assignment of actually writing the paper themselves.
So, what does any of this have to do with wellness/health/weight control? Well, when it comes to following a more restrictive dietary plan, finding time and actually doing the aerobic stuff, eating fresh foods, etc, we often find ourselves looking for the “Easy Route”. Hey, take Ozempic shots, feel less hungry, eat less and lose weight…easy, right? Hey, pop a microwavable processed food in for 5 minutes and have dinner ready for the family that quickly…easy, right?
Well, there is NOTHING easy about shedding weight and keeping that weight off. In the short term, GLP shots, prescription meds, fad diets etc may help a person lose weight temporarily but these will not last long if the more difficult lifestyle changes are not embraced.
So, although tempted to have AI write this entry today, I spent more time and energy writing something that may be of help to you. When it comes to health and wellness, do not always seek the “easy route” as more often than not, you will not achieve your goals to be healthier and happier.
And AI does not provide an associated song to their entries (I guess unless you request this). So, as I am writing this on a Sunday morning, here goes…Enjoy Lionel Richie and The Commodores.
