Traveling alone is much more often than not, more challenging/difficult than having a person/people with you. Being able to communicate with people you know, sharing the travel experiences, having a higher level of safety…these aspects of traveling with others enhances the experience.
Think of your weight control efforts as a journey: In a similar fashion, having support (i.e. company”) along the way will enhance the experience. Having someone/others to commensurate with, share frustrations and mechanisms to navigate around challenges, discuss recipes, join each other for workouts…these elements and more will increase the chances of you and the people that support you/those you support will successfully shed weight.
Finding support is pretty easy as many people in your world are similarly in a weight-losing mode. Try to not “hide” your weight control efforts and freely share your efforts with your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers etc. I believe you will find lot so others that will eagerly offer to provide support to your efforts as you will for them as well.
Being isolated on the “weight loss island” is akin to feeling like a castaway. Embrace the support of others and you will find your journey to health and happiness lots easier, more fun and successful.
Look how much fun the GREASE cast had when they supported each other!
