What Are Really Your Goals?

Here is a definition of the word “GOAL”: the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result.

When we set out on a mission to accomplish something, the intent is to achieve a certain GOAL(s).  In the weight control arena, the goals set out in shedding weight is not simply to get the number on the scale to go lower.  Some of the GOALS we may be aiming for include:

  • Look younger
  • Regain higher levels of energy
  • Fit better into our more stylish clothes
  • Develop a higher level of self-confidence
  • Come off of prescription medications being used to treat co-morbidities of poor weight control
  • Reduce the risk of developing heart disease, cancer, diabetes and/or other serious medical conditions
  • Keep up with our children and grandchildren
  • Live longer

There are many more “GOALS” that may be added to this list.

Please try to develop your own list of “GOALS” that you are hoping to reach via successful weight control.  Use this list as a motivation to exchange immediate gratification (food/drinks) for the long-term goals that are so much more important.

Don’t stop believing in your goals…make it happen…and enjoy Journey.
